Floyd Alan Smith, Sr., 47 of Dover, DE passed away of natural cause on July 23, 2012. Floyd was born July 25, 1964 in Easton, MD to Albert Smith and the late Joann Cook Smith. He attended North Caroline High School, enjoyed wrestling, fishing, cooking and he was a big fan of Pink Floyd, Nascar with Dale Jr. and Sr. Floyd was his happiest when he was with his family. In addition to his mother he is preceded in death by his baby sister Brenda Smith Elborn. He is survived by two children Ashley Smith and Floyd Smith, Jr. of Camden Wyoming, DE, a grandson Anthony Smith of Camden Wyoming, DE, sister Linda Smith of Felton, DE, three brothers, Billy Smith, Sr. and wife Donna of Felton, DE, Robert Smith, Sr. and wife Caroline of Goldsboro, MD and Patrick Smith, Sr. of Sandtown, DE, many nieces, nephews and a special friend Caroline Ford of Willowgrove, DE. Mary Zaffora Schrecengost, 79 of Goldsboro, MD died on Sunday July 22, 2012. Mary was born on October 6, 1932 to the late Domenico and Teresa Puliphroni Zaffora. She graduated from Perry High School in Pittsburg, PA in 1950, a member of St. Benedict’s Church and worked as a clerk for the State of Maryland in the Department of Natural Resources. She was preceded in death by her husband Hilton I. Schrecengost in 1989, daughter Teresa M. Murphy in 2011 who resided in Florida. She is survived by her son Domenico Zaffora, daughters Mary E. Agoney, Virginia C. Gavin, ten grandchildren, four boys, six girls, nine great grand children, seven boys and two girls. A funeral service will be held on Thursday July 26, 2012 at 10:30 am in the Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home, Greensboro, MD with visitation one hour prior to the service. She was retired from The Corporation Trust Company where she was the office manager. She was preceded in death by her ex-husband and the father of her children, Martin “Bud” Allaband, siblings and spouses, Norman “Jack” Meredith, Bill and Jane Meredith, Minnie Meredith, James Meredith, daughter-in-law, Joan Allaband and grandchildren Kevin and William Short and her boyfriend of over 60 years Leonard “Piggy” Tribbitt, She is survived by her son Hewitt Wayne Allaband, daughter and son-in-law Louise and John Short, a special niece she helped raise, Mary Louise Davidson, sister-in-laws, Ella Meredith, Margaret Powers, grandchildren, Wayne Allaband, Jeff Allaband, John Short, Jr., Angel Short, five great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Ruth Anna Bilbrough 85, Milford, left this world to join her husband Alfred, who loved her dearly, on July 16, 2012. She was surrounded by her loving family. Ruth was born February 19, 1927 in Goldsboro, MD to the late Omer & Edith (Hudson) Thompson. She worked for Playtex in her early years. Then after marrying her husband Alfred Milton Bilbrough, she enjoyed a life of farming, trucking, and raising not only her own children but many other children. Ruth enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles, reading her Bible, singing & listening to church hymns, cooking for & spending time with her family. Some of her family’s best memories are of Ruth in the kitchen cooking some of the best homemade meals. She has passed on her strength, her wit, & many life lessons to her family & friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Alfred Milton Bilbrough, her brother Omer Thompson, Jr., and her granddaughter Dawn R. Bilbrough. DENTON, MD. Joseph John Jordan, 79, husband of Celestine Marie Jordan, died on July 11, 2012, at Hospice of Queen Anne’s.
Mr. Jordan, son of the late John Jerome and Jessie Marie (Althoff) Jordan, was born on April 15, 1933 in Philadelphia, PA. As a teenager, he worked as a soda jerk at Burns’ pharmacy in Danville, PA he went on to become a pharmacist after graduating from Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science. In addition to his wife of 55 years, Celestine, he is survived by his seven children, Susan M. Bianca and family, John J Jordan, Sister Terri Jordan, IHM, Jean M. Jordan, Joseph J Jordan, Jr and family, Jeffrey J Jordan and family, and Celeste M. Jordan. He is also survived by one sister, Dolores McKenna. He was very proud of all of children’s accomplishments. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 14, at 11:00 am from the St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church, Denton, Md. Pall Bearers will be John Jordan, Joe Jordan, Jr, Jeff Jordan, Ryan Jordan, Joshua Jordan, Alexander Bianca, and honorary Pall Bearers will be James Edwards and John Satterfield. She had a love for music, participating in the church choir for the St. Paul’s United Methodist Church and then the New Life Wesleyan Church, where she was a member. Sheila was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, and a caring and giving person always doing for others. Greensboro Baptist Church. She was a seamstress who worked at Playtex in Dover for six years
and worked at Rob Roy until retirement. After retirement she enjoyed walking and taking her
grandchildren to volunteer at the local nursing homes. She was preceded in death by her
husband Russell Harris in 1990 and her daughter Sandy Fraley in 2004. She is survived by her son Kenneth Harris and wife Faye of Greensboro, five grandchildren Doug Fraley and wife Rachel, Sherry Good and husband Doug, Charity Harris White, Keith Harris and wife Sarah, and Bryan Harris, five great grandchildren Craig, Keeley, Cameron, Brandon and Owen. Barbara Ann Hatfield Murter passed away on August 5, 2012. She was born in Baltimore, Maryland on August 26, 1944 to the late John B. and Thelma Gill Hatfield. She received her education at St. Alphonsus School and Seton High School. Upon graduation she worked for Social Security Administration and retired from the Department of Defense as a Security Investigator. As a young child she enjoyed going to the race track with her father John Hatfield who was a horse trainer and continued this with her brother Timmy Hatfield who was a horse dentist. She fox hunted with the Iron Bridge Hunt Club with many of her longtime friends. She also enjoyed dogs, especially Rhodesian Ridge Backs. One in particular, Happy, was given to her as a wedding gift by her long time and devoted friend Joan. She showed in conformation and obedience. Later in life she got another dog a Jack Russell named Sussie from another longtime friend Sussie Cook. Barbara was a devoted mother to her daughter Karen whom she loved and sacrificed for from the day she was born. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her brother Timmy Hatfield and a very special nephew James Sutphin. She is survived by her sister Thelma Sutphin and her husband William Edward, sister-in-law Virginia Hatfield, daughter Karen Cephas and her husband Tony, granddaughter Anna Mae and a host of nieces, nephews and devoted friends. She will be truly missed.
